Refugee camps were meant to provide a safe shelter and a minimum amount of food for a short period of time. The stark reality is that families from 15 African countries have been calling Kakuma refugee camp home for many years. It is the second largest refugee camp in Kenya. The refugees are vulnerable, having escaped horrific conditions of war and ethnic strife. We currently help a group of 200 people, there are as many as 1,000 farmers we could help with the gift of seeds.
"Kakuma camp and Kalobeyei Integrated Settlement had a population of 185,449 registered refugees and asylum-seekers at the end of January 2018."
